- During the application, upload the photocopy (or internet printout) of the English proficiency result document to the relevant place in the online application form.
- International students whose mother tongue or official language is English and who have graduated from a university that provides education in English, can mark the "I am a native Speaker" section. Candidates who do not meet these two conditions are required to submit a result document in English.
- METU- EPE : The necessary information about the exam can be found at https://epe.metu.edu.tr/index_en.htm . The IYS exam is held during the graduate application period; Exam results are announced before the application period ends. IYS-Erasmus and IYS-Mevlana exams are not valid.
- Grades in English proficiency exams are valid for two years. Language documents older than two years are not accepted at the time of application to the program. The document that is valid at the application stage to the programs is also considered valid at the registration stage.
Foreign Language Proficiency in Graduate Program Applications (METU Announcements)
Dear Students,
In accordance with the decision of the Middle East Technical University Senate dated 11 November 2025, it has been decided that candidates applying to graduate programs who, as of the date of application, fall within the last four semesters:
a. have graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program of our University, or
b. have held student status in one of our University's graduate programs for at least one semester, provided that they meet the EPE score specified by the Graduate School to which they are applying,
will not be required to resubmit proof of English proficiency.
